2004 GP1300r
Hey everyone, new to the site and to the ski world. I have a moded 1300r I recently bought and lately the engine light has been coming on and it seems to be killing the battery. Do u guys know what could be wrong with it? I will post what has been done to it as well as soon as I find out again. Thanks for ur help.

Hello and welcome to the Hulk. concerning your engine light ... do you get any codes associated with the light? How old is your battery? Does it come on even when the start key is not installed and engine off ?

Ozark,
Thanks for the welcome. No it only comes on when its running. By the time it comes on, I shit the ski off and it won't start. I replaced the battery last night and I am waiting to find out if it acts any differently. How would I know if it had any codes?

it don't start cause it has low voltage to turn the engine or does it turn fast and don't start ?

i replaced my battery and can run the ski for about 30 mins or so, and the engine light starts beeping at me. i ran it back to the boat launch today with the beeping the whole time. what do i need to figure out what code its pulling? i thought maybe it was overheating but i dont see anything out of the norm but again, the ski is far from stock. i will try and get a list of mods to put up here.

ok, so i took the ski back out this morning and come to find out it pulls a code 19 and according to the forums on here, that means Incorrect battery voltage. Has anyone else had this issue? what was the fix? voltage regulator or stator or another issue. Again i replaced the battery with a new one and it didn't fix the issue.

so i took it to the shop and it turned out to be the regulator resistor thingy that sits next to the battery. a new friend of mine owns a shop in Destin Fl hooked it up and no more engine light. Fixed it right up, thanks Chris.
