    Ultra250 question

    So i already have the 260 head and a r&d supercharger pulley so my question is I've heard there are issues with the 250 jet pump? Is this true? I feel like I've read to put the 300 pump on it and why ?

    to put it simply. to the 300 and later style pumps utilize a double bearing setup where as the earlier pumps used a single bearing.... the single bearing would be prone to failure. this would either fail and cause the shaft to push the crank making it walk and take out the bearings. or it would fail, be replaced but by that point the crank has already started to move and it takes out the motor.

    in either case your going to be rebuilding the motor at some point. its just a matter of whether it is when the pump goes or a few hours of use after replacing the bearings in the pump.

    two front bearings, rear bearing, shaft, nut, o-ring, look in the oem parts diagrams
