Review: 2013 Seadoo GTX Limited iS 260
Most of you know that I am a hardcore Yamaha enthusiast. That may never change, but yesterday I picked up a 2013 Seadoo GTX Limited iS 260.
As as soon as I launched the ski into the Tennessee River I was immediately engulfed in 36" swells from an out going storm. I've never ridden a ski that rode so well in extremely rough water. I have to imagine that a Kawasaki Ultra 300 would be envious. After about ten miles of very rough and choppy water, we arrived at very smooth water, and I was able to test the agility. Although I had the ski suspension in auto mode, I was very happy with the overall feel, considering it is not my FZR. In both water conditions, it felt like I was riding on a cloud.
I must say that not I'm all that impressed with the fuel economy, but that is to be expected with a near 1,000 lb. ski.
Sport mode rocks! Touring mode sucks. I do love the cruise control as well as the IBR. The rear deck leaves something to be desired, but I do appreciate the port and starboard storage bins. The speed ties are priceless and the seat is heavenly. I love the front storage, and who would not love to store a gallon of milk in the glove box!
Overall, I am very satisfied and would actually love to have another one for my wife.
Lastly, it squeaked out a 68.5mph run on GPS with near full tank and trimmed all the way bow up in 6-12" chop.Last edited by Ski Hacks MG; 06-20-2015 at 10:54 PM.

Love the Seadoo suspension skis BUT just wait until you have to work on it. Problem is, you'll never be able to go back to a non suspension - you're now hooked. Enjoy.

The only reason I considered this ski was because of the suspension. I love rough water but did not want a Kawi.

Not real sure it has anything to do with being "old" but rather enjoying comfort on certain water.

Learn how to raise and lower the deck and it will be even better. I always ran the suspension either all the way up or down, never in between. I also went into the settings menu and turned off the Auto Dock mode. That way, I would have to put it in dock mode myself instead of the ski doing it every time I slowed down and such.

Yeah, I will have to research that. Thanks for the advice.
