About to buy an FZR that needs works.... Should I?

Hey guys, a friend of mine took a ski in on trade, 09 FZR 120 hours. He wants under 2k for it but heres the issue. The guy left it in the water for a while and it has pump issues. its got a bunch of barnacles on the bottom. They didnt check out the pump much yet but they said the engine and everything else is fine. Ive worked at a family boatyard my entire life so I know the damage barnacles can do. Just wondering:

Can anyone give me a WORST case scenario?

Does anyone know what possibly could be wrong? I know they didnt give much info but from the situation maybe bearings and seals?

Ive replaced impellers and housings before, whats the labor like replacing bearings and seals?

Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. I know i didnt include much here but thats all i know as of now. Just looking for some advice!

At 2k you can not go wrong period!!! Even if You parted it out You be ahead. I love to have that I got a fresh SVHO Motor and pump setup to drop in

I would bet that pump is welded shut from corrosion

even at 3k it's a good deal if the engine is good. I was interested in it when i saw it needed pump work, the pump is minor and easily fixed or replaced. worst case, you could buy a complete pump assembly with driveshaft for $600-800 used.

If I were closer. I'd throw my pump into it to water test it.
