    EMM Repair with Mods

Seems to have been enough discussion that i think we can draw some conclusions about one of them.

1.The msx 140 and txi would probably benefit from having the fuel richened up from a performance view as it pertains to acceleration.

2.Only the msx 110/150 nickasil was in question and not the msx 140

3.Fuel consumption more than likely wouldn't even be noticed

4.No actual figures for how much this mod improves performance or if it does have been made available

Before moving onto other mods and the EMM,if you agree with whats above you could just +1

Since the recommended octane has been increased to 91 the cost of consumed fuel may be noticeable.

Incremental increase in consumption (presumed richer mixture) plus the increased price of premium fuel, possibly offset by improved fuel economy from more advanced ignition timing.

Again, we have no data to work with, so supposition is the available method.

stage 1 power performance upgrade. You ski will run better than stock, with a crisp zippy throttle response about 7% fuel curve and 1% timing increase

The engine factors that have the greatest seizure related effect on operating temperature or excessive compression ratio or ignition advance, high rpm, insufficient fuel octane level, insufficient cooling, or any combination of these. Properly adjusting these same factors will have the greatest effect on total power output. The job of the professional engine builder is to find the right combination, or "blend", of these factors that will result in strong overall power output at a pace that your cooling system can keep up with. There are many mechanics and engine builders who have mastered their own combination "blend" that can get you all the power your after without risking a seizure.

so what will the polaris emm allow for mods?92 octane domes,v-force reeds, more timing like a sleeper curve?i don't think any serious porting is possible as the required extra fuel isn't possible with the ficht injectors and is there the ability to raise any rpm limiter it might have.as far as raising the compression there would have to be some real testing done to confirm longevity here.could you get away with bolting on some domes?probably but increasing the timing to go with it is an easy recipe for disaster.lots of seizures occur from runnning wot then backing off to a 3/4 throttle postion.the heat soak of a long wot run,the diminished water flow of a lower rpm, increased timing, and not enough fuel can add up quickly to a scored or seized piston

Is that from an old Harris post on here?

Generally I would say the factory tune allows for many negative variables to prevent detonation so the machine doesnt have to be in perfect condition to avoid blowing up. some examples would be a failing fuel pump, missing regulator, dirty injectors, air leak. That gives you room to add performance to the ski without having to reflash the emm. The only problem is you wont know if you went too far until its too late. I saw a page on Group K about Seadoo DI mods on a stock computer and the only thing they did was bump up the compression but they said it was still 87 octane safe meaning there was possibly room for another mod or 2. Im in the process of colleting parts for my seadoo DI but I plan to run AFR gauge and adjust fuel pressure as needed. Turning up the fuel pressure on FFI barely makes a difference because the injector itself is forcing the fuel into the chamber not the fuel pressure

one post from ebay, the other is from groupk.does the seadoo stuff use a knock sensor or a oxygen sensor?the polaris ficht has neither i believe

It does have a knock sensor. It was just a generalization because seadoo di and polaris di are nothing alike in any way. Seadoo uses the same system as a mercury optimax. It uses compressed air to force the fuel into the cylinder. Group k also claims that the head work they do for the carb motor is different than the head work for the di motor. Couldn't imagine the difference but they said there is one
