given the amount of water passing thru a pump, I'd really like to see how they plan on keeping a rope out of there.

BRP did it years ago on their sport boats. They started with plastic shaft covers and the first time you sucked something up, it cracked and caused cavitation. BRP told us to just remove them and not to reinstall them. Years later on the 4 stroke boats, they went to a SS/metal shaft cover and it bolts into the pump tunnel to hold it in place. Never really had a problem with those...

I'd like to check these out on a parts diagram. Can you point me in the direction of what year and model 4-Tec sport boat might carry the SS version?

I work off the dealer only website so I cant post pics of it, but if you find a parts diagram of a 2011 Challenger 210 and look at the propulsion section it has it there. I am not sure what other boats had them but I know they were there.

Sorry, never seen them for a ski......And I have no idea if a sport boat one would fit on a ski. I would say no because the pump tunnel on a sport boat is much longer than a ski..

They are garbage,I have seen them break & come loose & rattle around on the driveshaft.

I agree with you about the old plastic ones, but the metal ones were much better....
