How to Remove broken reverse nut from my Seadoo
Hi all,
I just thought I would share this. My 2005 Seadoo RXT Was taking on water. after I got the ski on the trailer I discovered that the reverse nut broke ( Piece of Sh**t Plastic ) with the threads still inside. After trying all kinds of things ( screwdriver, needle nose pliers, picks, etc. ) PAIN IN THE ASS to work in that small deep space. I finally had this idea and it worked like a charm. I took a piece of 1/2" PVC pipe and sanded it down to a slight taper and checked fitment into the broken plastic nut. Once I was satisfied with the fit, I put some PVC glue around the end of the pipe and pushed it into the hole ( ran the reverse cable through the pipe ) I waited about 2 minutes for the glue to dry and twisted the broken nut out. The total cost of the Pipe and the glue was just over $5.00. I order the aluminum replacement nut ( reverse also ) Here are some picks:
Supplies.
Sanded pipe with taper.
Bam! Done!

Four years later, I will also say genius. I wish I had found this sooner. OK ... glue not sticking.
