    Need input on oil issue

    I have a 2003 gtx supercharged the ski is stock and it's having an issue with oil returning to the sump. I read the bulletin and I am going to change the oil pressure regulator, change the front oil pump and clean the oil passage from the pto to secondary oil pump. Is there anything else that I should look for with the motor out. Motor has 135psi compression in all three cylinders and runs strong. Just pumps all of the oil into the pto housing.

    Sometimes that issue is caused by a completely failed front oil pump. Doing what you plan to do will very likely correct your issue, but you will also be able to see any other issues when you tear it down that far too.

    Ive seen the gear in the front pump slip and spin on the shaft - results in full pto cover

    Could it be the TOPS valve on the top of the front oil pump not opening. It should open when you start and close about 10 sec after you remove the key. Should hear a very distinct Plunk noise on power down.

    The TOPS is a vent - has nothign to do with oil accumulating in the PTO cover
    The PTO oil is scavanged via the front pump into the main oil cavity.

    Tops valve is working also checked it with my candoo. When it ran low on the water I put oil in it until it showed on the dipstick then proceeded to push it out the tops valve. Acted like it was overfilled with oil. Got it back to the trailer and then pulling the motor tonight to see what's going on

    Pull the front pump off 1st before pulling the engine
    Its a 5 min job. I bet that is where you will find your issue

    So pulled the engine spent a few hours and figured it out finally and this is a new one. Found this in the oil passage between the pto and secondary oil pump. It's the squirter for the supercharger.

    Wow ... curious. Was that missing in your rear PTO? In the picture, you are showing this in the front of the motor ... did that actually fall off and travel through the oil passage from the rear all the way to the front oil pump? That would be pretty amazing ...

    Yep it was missing from the pto and traveled all the way through the passage and somehow did not hit the timing chain or damage the flywheel.
