Quietening down the Riva Thru Hull exhaust

So my ski has the Riva Thru Hull exhaust (stock water box) and I would like to quieten it down some at idle and low speed cruise. WOT it doesn't bother me. Has anyone approached this? I was thinking heavy rubber flap of some sort but................

We talked about that around here. We were thinking having a 90 or 45 welded to the ring to put the sound down in the water.

Problem is I already have a huge hole in the rear of my hull.

    Rick, seriously.

On a serious note, if you know someone fancy with a tig welder you can "dual exit" the exhaust both out the OEM hole and rear exit. It won't be much quieter, but it will be a little. There isn't a diverter valve on the market that doesn't leak water or exhaust gasses so that's out.

weld a 45 to the riva thru hull fitting to put the sound down in the water for idling a light cruising.

Coming from a riva waterbox with thru hull was so annoying. I just put my stock waterbox back in a few weeks ago and its so much better now with just the thru hull.
