    SLTX reverse cable install

    The reverse bucket was missing when I bought the ski. Apparently it had broken when the PO backed into a dock, which also damaged the cable. There is a lot of RTV around the bolts on both sides of the hull, is this factory? I looked on the Polaris parts directory and did not notice a seal or indication to put RTV in this area. What should be there to prevent water intrusion!

    Post some photos.

    Sounds like the cable seal at the hull was damaged and someone added sealant as a fix.

I pulled the cable yesterday and wanted some opinions before continuing. The RTV seemed to be holding up ok.

    What does the reverse cable look like where it would exit the hull?

    A factory cable fitting does not have excessive sealant added

    The cable itself was broke off at the rod that connects to the bucket. I am going to look around for a replacement seal. Is it like a rubber shaft with a flange that the threaded portion of the cable slides through?
