Air intake hull mods
Has anyone cut open the top fake vent to allow fresh air to ram inside of the ski when riding? Just curious to know. I'm thinking of doing it and maybe installing a shut off lid on the inside for when riding in rough water ( ocean) so water doesn't get in and when the water is flat I can slide it open to allow fresh air in for better performance.
Anyone done this????
cheers

I cut in a rear air vent into my ski and there was no detectable improvement.

you can enlarge the stock intake holes and clean up the grill to flow better
the stock intake is about the best place that keeps out most of the water

But you wouldn't get much air forcing its way through from the rear air vent I would thought. But having air go through the front will push the hot air out the rear vent and keep the engine temp down a bit.
Im pretty interested to see if anyone has done the front vents tho

no, did the grill and removed one hose
most people want to use the dry trunk
so they leave in the wall
cant see how you would get any extra air with the wall in place

I haven't removed my hoses but I did cut them shorter hoping that would help it breath better.

Just connect your intake to the vent and u will see 50 to 100 rpm increase and just ride. My friend hit me with a wave and i didnt suck not even a drop of water. Just make sure u r not on boost when u r jumping waves and splashing water. Also u keep a nice and dry storage.
