Is the R&D Clutch Tool Necessary

Hey GH. I'm gearing up to do my first clutch replacement on my 08' SHO (104 hrs) and feeling confident with the stickies on here. I can't find anything on the clutch tool though. Some say you don't need it, others say it's a must and some say I can use an airgun. For those of you that have done this what are your thoughts?

I pop off the pump cone and put a wrench on the nut and put the floor jack under the wrench to hold it. Works great and saves $90!

I changed mine couple of times using a good 3/8 air gun. No issues.

I was thinking about using my airgun as well. The trq spec is 59 lbs so I can't see it not working. Has anyone made or used anything else or have words of wisdom?
