Adjust cornering on a '15 FZR?

Well, unlike my GPR the FZR doesn't have adjustable sponsons.

    My issue:

When taking tight fast sweeping corners (St John's River) the ski likes to dig in and release. It's quite an annoying feature. I don't know if I'm saying it right, but it's an upsetting quality. It's like the sponsons dig in and catch turning the ski hard, but I don't wanna turn hard, then it kinda upsets the ski as it resets and tries to do it again. Going in with a hard lean helps but it still does it.

My GPR was setup with stepped sponsons, Jim's milled RD plate, measured, shimmed, the whole works. It cornered like a dream. You could "drift" the sweepers very gracefully never taking your finger off the throttle could almost use one hand, and in the really tight stuff it dug in and held hard.

Maybe the first step will be send my plate off to get milled?

    Hello there buddy,

I'm glad you're back on your ski!!!

Yet another reason why I went back to the FX!!! The FX turns hard and leans into the turn like a bike. There is no drifting involved so I am able to take the turns at full throttle and predict what the ski will do all the way through the turn.

I had that drifting biting hard then drift again issue on my FZS and VXR. I was abled to get rid of that condition with a Jim's cut VX plate so my suggestion is to send your plate in to get cut by Jim!!!

    Good luck, Julio...

I also noticed the condition worsen as I burned gas and the ski became lighter...

So start with the plate? Will removing the OEM spacers help?

Thank you feels good to be on the water. Let the mods begin.

Removing the spacers will make it worse until you cut the plate because it will bring your nose up out of the water even more. Start with the plate and go from there...

    Good luck, Julio...

Get a set of Riva sponsons and have Jim cut your stock plate the sponsons are adjustable and you can set it up to fit your riding style, it's amazing what good sponsons will do to the FZR

If you wanted something to carve the SJ's with, you should have got a T3 hulled Rxpx. Ask me how I know.

FZR's are killing the AquaX right now, they handle just fine. It will just take some adjustments
