Kawasaki 250x aftermarket intercooler and hks blow off valve
Hey. I want to install an intercooler from frozenboost.com and install a hks bov to it for racing and pleasure rides. I know I have to get the intercooler made to fit because I know others have done it and it works but I am curious to know if the bov will work because I was told there is a difference between the stock Kawi relief valve and the hks bov. Love the sound of the hks and I liked how it worked on my old fzs. Just not sure if it would work the same way on a 250x. Really don't want to waste money on something that won't work so please reply to let me know what's best for me to do.

So why waste money on the frozen boost? Whats wrong with the oem? A bov is not needed..

The thing is that i race and the stock intercooler that i had has a leak which can cause you to lose power and become a pain in the ass. Other teammates run vortec chargers with a intercooler that can handle more pressure, is lighter, cheaper, and more reliable. The stock intercoolers are too expensive and costly to replace especially with the salt water conditions i ride in. Frozen boost has a replica to the vortec that works great but i just want to know if a hks bov can work because i know that the vortec intercoolers and stock intercoolers require a different type of bov.

proper maintenance, rerouted cooling lines on the stock ic setup, a blocked of BOV, and properly functioning bypass valve should give you all the reliability you need in a race setup.
look at the welds on a frozenboost intercooler and you'll see why its cheaper.......
i've had an ultra for the last 8 years.... never had an issue with the intercooler whatsoever and it was raced hard for the first 3.5 years of its ownership.
