Ski is dead. Need to revive.

Hello all,

I'm new to the forum and a new owner of an 07 250x. I purchased this used and it ran great for a few weeks. I had some minor part failures which I managed to fix (turbo master fpr was dumping fuel out the boost nipple).

The ski ran great for 1 day after I replaced the fpr. On day two the ski broke down. I'm looking for some guidance into what might be wrong..

The day it broke down, it had run fine for about 30 mins. While cruising at idle, I noticed a faint rattling. The rattling grew louder and the ski finally lost power. I was able to idle for about 5 mins til the ski just shut off. Now the engine won't turn over.

I also noticed that after I replaced the fpr, the ski would decelerated much slower.

The ski has some aftermarket stuff on it: ride plate, intake, open exhaust, r&d fuel pressure controller, turbomaster 800 fpr, block off plates.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Lost the pump bearings, pushed the driveshaft forward and wiped out the crank and cases... .

Thanks everyone. How can I confirm that that is what happened? I want to decide whether to take to a mechanic, DIY, or light the ski on fire.

Unfortunately, it's too old and too expensive to bring it back to life. Personally, I would light it on Fire. Do stand back though; these things have BIG gas tanks! JB

I've seen a few pumps go without ruining the engine, and the pump itself to rebuild is super easy to do. Never know, but check the engine after you pull the pump to see if it's ok..

its not a matter of if but when. pump goes then a few weeks later motor gets taken out. its matter of time.... and the symptoms he's describing are the motor being taken out.


trust me on this one. i know from experience
