maximizing the stock Jensen marine stereo

I just acquired this Speedster with the stock Jensen MSR3007BRP marine radio (http://www.jensenmarinedirect.com/do...ers_manual.pdf) and two Jensen MSXR65R 6.5" speakers with tweeters (http://www.jensenmarinedirect.com/je...l-speaker.html). The speakers are cracked and are economical to replace ($100).

This radio looks very interesting. First of all, it has a low voltage alarm so you don't get stranded unable to restart your engine. It has a 40w x 4 channel speaker output.
It has a front panel MP3 input audio jack, rear RCA output jacks, a rear iPod jack (DIN) to control and iPod or iPhone, and is Sirius-ready. The label on the radio says not to bridge the speaker channels.

Does this mean there's two unused 40w channels for additional speakers?

Has anyone connected the SiriusXM (later version) module and had good luck?

I'm tempted to simply replace the speakers and start from there.

Replace the speakers and head unit.

I have a Challenger 180 and just upgraded my system with 4 of the JL Audio MX series speakers, a 10" JL Audio sub all powered by a JL Audio M600/6 amp. It thumps hard and it's so loud it hurts my ears.....and I like it loud!

Yes sir. I added a marine deep cycle battery to power just the electronics and installed a dual perko switch
