Looking at getting a Yamaha VX, is this a good deal?

I'm new here so apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Looking at buying a Yamaha VX series PWC. Budget is around 5-5.5K.

I found the below one locally. It seems priced a bit high to me; if I could snag this for around 5K would it be a decent deal? Should I be concerned with the hours?

    Thanks,
    Todd

I think it's a bit high, I got an FX HO for $5500.00 with only 30 hours. It was 3 years old when I bought it.

Kelly Blue Book has the ski at $4455 and I guess the trailer @$500. Looks like the right side tail light is gone from the trailer and some padding added to the middle anti-skid pads. If the ski checks out well, I wouldn't go over 5k. Have somebody go with you that is pretty good with skis to give it a once over including a compression check and hopefully a test ride.

Definitely high. I agree with the above $5000 would be the absolute top. $4500 would be closer. My brother just sold a 2006 VX Cruiser with 24 hours in the Charlotte area for $4500 with a nice aluminum Triton trailer, and the ski was mint.

Do the water testing, you should see her run for at least 55 mph if the engine and the prop is healthy and good. 180 hours is nothing for yamaha if that owner takes care good of it, I have a yamaha R6 bike with almost 40000 miles on the milage but still could hit 180 mph with no problems.

Thanks for all of the replies. I was planning to get it inspected by a local place before buying. Now I am thinking 4500 is a fair price. Not sure I can get them talked down to that.

In the price point you looking at your not to far off from buying a leftover 13 or 14 vx new I would probably try to expand my budget a little and go new. I would say that price is high for the hours. For 6k I got 2012 seadoo gti I would sell you with 40 hours on it.
