2005 RXT SC performance dropped today

I replaced the impeller and the wear ring on my 2005 RXT 215hp 4 tec supercharged ski today. The ski has about 130 hours on it. I bought it a couple of weeks ago.

The ski was running quite well and had great acceleration from a dead stop and reached 70 mph. I rode it for about 1 hour.

Towards the end of my ride the top speed dropped to 55 MPH and the acceleration was not as zippy as earlier in the day. I didn't notice any unusual engine sounds or cavitation. The tach was maxing out at 6,500 RPM. I seem to recall that the tach used to go much higher.

I pulled the pump & impeller when I got home and didn't see anything wrong. No chips or dings in either the impeller or wear ring. They spin freely.

What is the next thing i should look at to find the source of the problem?

Check on the slip on the SC.

I just looked into the engine compartment and I found a broken hose clamp. I also found a hose that I believe should have been attached to the supercharger.

Is this the output of the supercharger?

This particular pipe was fairly deep and when i reached in with my fingers i didn't feel anything. Is slip checked on the other side?

I don't know if the supercharger on this ski was ever rebuilt.

Does this disconnected hose explain the performance drop?

Yes, that's definitely causing your lack of performance. Slide it back on and clamp it down... you should be good.

the 05's had the bad SC parts
time to upgrade that SC before it destroys your motor

A new hose clamp fixed the problem.

The hose clamps on the supercharger are not the factory original ones, so it is likely that the supercharger has been taken off at some point in the past.

I'll likely get it rebuilt it a few weeks.

I likely would pull that shit instantly and not start it again until you know what's inside there.

Rising an an entire engine and thousands of dollars over "a few weeks" is NOT SMART!

Replace all the hose clamps with T-Clamps: http://www.siliconeintakes.com/t-bol...amp-p-103.html

Get a Shop Manual: www.brpmanuals.com then read it.
