looking at a 2004 msx 150 turbo 4 stroke
They're asking 2,500 for it or obo, looks in good condition, it starts, but wont rev above 2000 rpm, how much would you'all pay for it? It's listed on craigslist Tulsa.

First off... it's an expensive ski to fix... with a bunch of common and well known issues that need to be addressed (or will).
So... $2500 for a ski not running right? No way! You likely won't be able to find ANY dealer who will service or attempt to fix it. It's that rare a pwc... a one-year-only Polaris.
2k RPMs limit... could be an overheat issue... or limp home mode. Either way... it's very likely not a simple cheap fix.
I would do nothing without a compression test. Below 130psi in each cylinder... walk away. Or plan to do a complete rebuild YOURSELF to the tune of $2k+ in parts to get it fixed properly.
So I wouldn't pay more than ~$700-ish for a very clean MSX 150 with issues. Cause there is a lot more $$ that will need to go into it. And only if your a DIY kinda person.
Cheers!

If you like a challenge, and are very technically inclined (both mechanical and electrical/computer), and if it has good compression and no milky oil and no overfilled oil, then you might entertain picking it up for $1000-$1500 with trailer. Otherwise, scanning the Tulsa CL I see a nice pair of MSX 140's at Tommy Biffle lakeside Polaris

By the way, my 150 that I purchased recently had a bad exhaust temperature sensor, and it too was in overheat/limp mode when I bought it. If the overheat indicator is on, you can just unplug the temperature sensor to see if the machine springs to life

Thanks for the input, hoping to have my 02 virage running this Friday evening, the EMM is back from DFI, reading the replies, that 150 is probably out of my league, on getting it running, other than a temp sensor.

I lived and played my first 18 years in owasso and the surrounding area. Unfortunately evrone is right About this ski. It has many pluses but it's major drawback is they all need rebuilt and no one will touch it.

Owasso is a booming town! Did you ever party Grand lake? When I get off work, I'm pretty much a lake bum there, lake has some nice waves to jump, with all the yachts.
