had to be a fuel tank explosion..you saw the tank in the video,, edges flared outward.

Likley scenario, ski with nearly empty tank baking out in driveway, then towed to dealership

a new battery put in and somebody tried to spin it up.

hopefully some details will be revealed so such things can be avoided in future.

this was a pretty good sized bang, but in a jetski hull a cup of gas can make a pretty good bang

Definitely way more violent of an explosion than I was expecting. I was thinking the seats and hatches would have been blown off but that thing was ripped to shreds. Plenty of Ski's have caught fire and burned down with out this kind of violent explosion so my guess is that the entire hull had to be full of gas fumes. (Needless to say I will be popping my seat off before starting my ski after its been baking in the sun for a while)
