    01 Ultra 150 won't start

I had recently been having problems with my 01 Ultra 150 starting. The starter relay had been just clicking. So I took off the battery connections and cleaned them and ran at the lake for a day and brought it home. This Sunday I was going to start it before dropping it back in the water, and all I got was the clicking. The battery was fully charged and battery connections are tight. Any idea if it is the starter or starter relay? Or do I need new cables to the starter relay?

    Welcome aboard, hoopsmuffin!

    How old is the battery?

Yes, it could be the starter relay, the starter, or even the jet pump binding.

Measure the voltage at the battery terminals, should be a little over 12 volts.

The battery is just over a year old and was charged over the winter. I checked voltage from the battery at 12.75v and voltage at the starter relay was 12.5v. I dont think the jet pump would be bound as it has not been in the water recently and it had started a few hours before out of the water.

I missed that you had run it before. Jet pumps tend to bind up during storage because corrosion forms between the pump housing and the liner, pushing the liner into the impeller.

If you have a booster battery pack, jump it directly to the starter and see if it cranks. That will tell you if the starter is good.

Are the battery cable connections clean? I.e. did you take them apart and scrape them until shine metal appeared? Don't forget to check the ground connection to the engine block.
