    Water Separator

Can some tell me why Polaris puts 5/16" hose barbs on the water separator? The rest of the fittings are 1/4 " I have purchased the marine grade 1/4" fuel hose, but the hose will not fit the separator. Should I get a 5/16 x 1/4 hose barb reducer? Any suggestions will be welcome!!

It should fit , it will be hard to get the line on it, but it WILL fit, i have never used a reducer on anything, possibly use a hair dryer to heat up the fuel line to make it more easily manipulated.
