Question seadoo gtx 185 2004 strange starting problem

    need your help again please

the ski is a GTX 185 with 120 hours its well maintained and looked after

from cold the ski never fails to start straight on the button BUT once its been out on the lake for a bit it will turn over and crank but struggles to start but after a bit of messing about it will start up and run with out missing a beat then on other times it will start straight away

so im not sure where to start to looking i don't want to send it to a dealer (I'm in the uk) as its needs to ride for a while before it starts playing up

Assuming you have a new fully charged battery…..

    #20 Starter relay

Common part to fail over the years. I had to replace mine on my GTX last year for the exact same symptoms. It is kinda difficult to get to………

yes it has a new battery,i thought that if the starter relay is on its way out that it would click when when you press the start button

the ski never fails to crank over but it just fails to catch and fire up

It sounds like you don't believe me or Greenhulk that your problem is the starter relay.

I've ordered the starter relay so I'm grateful for the advice but I'm also interested to learn more about these skis so i was interested into why some one thought it may be fuel its allways good to look at all avenues as the summer is short here so we have to make the most of it

He stated that it cranks and turns over, in that case it can't be the starter relay.
I would replace the in tank fuel filters first and test the fuel pressure.
