    Valve Clearance on MR1 Motor

If the engine timing is out of synch, is it possible for the pistons to smack the valves, causing damage? Or is there enough clearance between the pistons and the valves that this is not a concern?

Figured it out myself. If the timing is off by a few teeth on the cam sprockets, no big deal. If off by half a turn of the camshaft, say goodbye to your valves.
