Biggest POS ever. And Riva can back me on this.. Blue 2014 svho

2014 fx svho. bought july 30. Color blue from SW fla
Got 5 yrs warranty. ..46 hours blows timing chain at about 60 mph
Riva ck's it out... Does a complete rebuild. The ski does 20 hours, Stops running again.....
I Ck cyl's...No comp in number 1 one cylinder...Riva did not replace the rods.. Blew number one rod
Now Riva has Yamaha send a complete motor off the Assemble line. This motor would be a 2015 motor. And I mean COMPLETE..
They install it, It starts, But wont rev up, They order new wiring harness, Still wont rev up... They order new ECU... Engine runs fine... Time down 6 weeks
NOW I wana say..Riva did a great job. And did their best, But I mean what troubles.
For a new 2014 FX svho
Now for the 3 time I must break it in...
And this is NO BULL...... When riva took the engine apart, As they found the number 1 broken rod
But with only 20 hours on new chain. They said they could see the chain was wearing again...
Yamaha wanted this motor to study the defects...
I say, The dam japs drank to much soki..And was built on a Monday hang over..
I know this much...Yamaha lost their ass on this ski.........

dam dude, that sucks... hopefully you`ll be good to go 3rd time around. But I understand your frustration. For the money it takes to even buy a new machine these days, you`d think it would be fault free regardless of brand... good luck bud.

look at it the bright way, you got a new 15 engine , it cannot get any better , also it sound like riva bend over to resolve the issue one way or the other , that's important .

    up for RIVA.

Hey at least you got to use your FZR more than 30 minutes before it blew up

Riva is an awesome organization and I am so glad to see others recognize them for that!!!

I have dealt with them for over 8 years and they've done some amazing things no other institution will do!!!

    I hope mine isn't a rotten potato!!!!!!

Nope, it's not. I bought my FZR a week ago and got .2 hours on it before it went back to the dealer. It's very discouraging. I don't give a fuck what Yamaha does, I'm going to be on a jet ski next weekend it's Aquapalooza at Disappearing Island. They better figure something out.

I second this-I bought my '14 Sea-Doo from Riva and the transaction went flawlessly. I feel your pain as I had a '12 FZR that never ran right so I just traded it and cut my losses. I hope the boat works for you now.

Maybe my 110 hour timing chain I have sitting at home out of my 2009 has some value...

Crazy to think that this hasn't effected the pre svho skis.
