06 gp1300r bogging and missfire, help!

    Hi!

was at the lake today for first riding after i sealed the shoe.
had big problems to have it running :/
When it first start i got engine light on with code 15, shut it of and on again and the light is off.
the Ski bogs very much and seems to missfire, feels like it dont run on all cylinders.

i know 2 stroke can feel a little bogging when cold but this whas something else, tryed to give some throttle then finaly it ran good and i head out on the lake.
After 5 min the ski dies and when trying to start it idles very low a few seconds then dies, after a few try whit a litle throttle it starts and ran very good agan.
Whas out for about an hour and it ran better then ever before

on the way back it was heavy chop and lots of wavejumping the engine light was back again with code 15 ;(

I was first thinking of a bad plug? But if a plug where bad it shoudnt ran so well for an hour?
can the engine temp sensor cause bogging and missfire?

the Ski is a gp1300r -06 with (18 hours!) since new.

Pull the plugs and see what they look like. How was it running just before you did the pump shoe? Have you replaced the catalytic converter?

The plugs looked good, all three was wet.
before i sealed the shoe it have the same engine light comes on when i started it from cold, one or two starts later the light was gne and ski ran very well the rest of the time i was out.

it has never bogged or missfire before as today, strange is that it ran so good after a few starts?

compression is 120 psi on all three (using a cheap meter)

The compression as long as all three are the same then you are probably good on that. Is the gas fresh? I am sure someone else will chime in soon.

    Bad gas...

Yes gas is fresh, mayby not the last 10 liters but the times before i filled full tank with fresh fuel.
Cant see how bad gas can giving bogg and missfire, low idle and dies under a few start attemps then run better then ever before for an hour?

Is there any ignition problem on those 1300 to look for?

The other you might check is whether you have any exhaust leaks

Follow the throttle body harness... starboard side front of motor, then it crosses over the engine in the front by the U pipe and up to the port side rear of the fuel tank. There is a big connector there and on salt water boats it usually gets corrosion in the connector.

Most of the boats I see this on have intermittent running problems and code 15

    Thanks Will check that !!

was removing the stinger today and find out a broken clamp!
can this cause engine bogging and feels like missfireing??
it was the inside rubber clamp.

Yes it is possible. Having water enter your exhaust does change its properties. although the code 15 does sound electrical. You might have a couple of things going on here. Fix the clamp and also check your electrical connectors. Note use diaelectric grease to help keep moisture out of those connectors
