    IC pressure test?

    I'm going to pressure test my IC off the ski and wondered what kind of air pressure psi you guys think is representative of the water pressure (regular closed loop 260 HO). Was planning on hooking up shop air to water inlet, putting a bung on the water outlet and submersing it in water to see if any bubbles appear.

    Thoughts / experience?

    Operating water pressure in the pump is in the 70 PSI range. I have never checked the pressure on the back side of the intercooler but it won't be higher than 70.

    Wow, that high? I had in my mind the number 13psi for air testing? Maybe I'm confusing it with Closed Loop testing pressure.

    your average water fossett has about 60psi

    Yep, with the 3" holes up, plug the out and put a water hose on the inlet, if water fills the intercooler in a few hours. , we have issues.

    This is how I do it. My water pressure is low a 30psi off the hose.

    Done. Doesn't leak!!!

    Just a quick question, this is an IC from an 08 RXT and has the flush inlet on the front of the IC. If I install it in a later ski (with rear flush connection by the pump), can I just cap off the front flush inlet?

    Is this a stock 08 IC? If so it has water in and water out on the back rear and a bleed line on the front top! Post a pic if not sure.
