    Dess key fault code P1658

Ski is a 2010 GTX155. My diagnostic software comes up with P1658,EMS "Faulty DESS key switch, remove DESS key and check system circuit B-B2" Anybody had this one before? Does it mean the DESS key post on the ski is faulty? Is circuit B-B2 part of the DESS key post wiring?
I also had codes C2122 "Unexpected battery power loss" and C2121 "Perform electrical system shutdown to clear fault" come up at the same time. Does "Perform electrical system shutdown" mean taking all power off the ski by disconnecting the battery?
    Any thoughts guys?

are there any hard symptoms to back up the error codes?

just on face value disconnecting the battery for a few hours might clear it if the short term ecu memory got corrupted

    what reader are you using?

Are the faults active or occurred (happened in the past sometime)?

I have a a Scanworld diagnostic system that I use for all my marine maintenance. http://scanworldsystemus.com/
I had the same problem on this customers ski last summer and cleared the codes and they went away. Now they have come back. The ski runs normally apart from these codes and the maintenance required light being on. Interestingly I cleared the codes again but they keep coming back? Does this info help at all? I appreciate the help.

It's having trouble with the data from the key. I would try another key, and check the dess post connection under the steering, and at the ecu.

I tired two other keys programmed for the ski and got the same problem. I'm suspicious that the DESS key post is damaged or the harness connection is faulty somewhere back to the ECU. I think I might just install a new DESS keypost. That should not require any re-programming of the keys should it?

Thanks Pete ! I have ordered a new OEM DESS post in case I find the old one faulty.
