    Sea-Doo versus Yamaha

I have a 2014 Sea-Doo RXTX AS 260 with a Riva Racing Stage 1 plus Rivas intercooler plus sponsons and a 2015 Yamaha FX SVHO Cruiser with just the Riva Racing air filter kit and sponsons, I can not believe how much faster the Yamaha is compare to Sea-Doo. Hope Sea-Doo get there act together for 2016 and come up with a bigger motor that can match or pass Yamaha. I own both but I like my RXTX better just because of the suspension and the way they look!!!. Has any of you had a similar experience. Thank you

the svho has a wheel that is capable of making a lot of boost and very simple mods will make it wake up quick, you can make a seadoo just as fast it just requires more work to do so. That suspension ski probably doesnt help either as i think they weigh a bit more.

Remember the Sea-Doo has a stage 1 plus Rivas intercooler, I have already spent over $3000 and the Yamaha is stock with just Rivas air filter. Imagine if I do a stage 1 on the Yamaha

not sure what to tell you there, with 3k invested in your ski it should be able to beat that yamaha. I had my ski running 80 with less money than that. The SVHO is going to be faster mod for mod, but if you have an intercooler and some other stuff it should run faster than 71-72 that the yamaha is probably doing. Also how do you know the yamaha is faster? have you gps'd both, or raced both agaist each other?

Yes I ran both against each other, and my Sea Doo cant't catch up, the speedometer on the Sea Doo hits 72 and on the Yamaha 75. At the end of the day the Sea-Doo still my favorite is just I can't believe how much faster and quicker of the whole the Yamaha is.

the yamaha speedometer is about as inaccurate as they come if its anything like the FZR, so i wouldnt count on that ski going 75 unless it was gps'd, but if your speedo on the seadoo is reading 72 you are realistically going 70 which is slow for the mods you have.

Riva stage 1 kit? So your running a scom and stock ecu?
You would be much better off with a vtech tune then the scom.
    MoTec is a option also.

You may be right on that speedometer but I ran them side by side and the Yamaha took me, I'm going to look into that, also I have the suspension model which is much heavier
