1997 and up 785 carb settings and jetting

I am just cleaning and installing a 785 #44 Mikunis tripple carb setup and paying close attention to the rack jetting and of course just trying to put it back as spec . I did find a problem with the end carb - the one that was poorly spraying in the bore of the carb visually compared to the other two . - spring under the needle was not positioned on the tit . I almost felt like just going through the sets and not using the three kits but i am not knowledgable enough to ascertain the many factors of diaghrams and needle and seats so i just used most of the kits . For the most part it looked excellent and just not able to know a bagged out diaghram or how small a mark in the needle would affect the outcome so i just replaced to hopefully help -Not removing again . So now back on - why all the jetting differences . My 97 shows 180 - 175c -180 and 82.5 for all three and i see there was a jetting 'B" shown dropping jet sizes but opening the lows and finally opening the high, then 98 jetting went down into 155s Am i to think that as the production and testing was producing better results with the jetting changes or ? thoughts from those that have been there and back please .

the 97 jetting was change i'm not sure of but the 98-00 carbs where totally different internally and that made them much easier to tune

Thanks for the reply , generally when I have had a problem with small 2 stroke stuff around the property it is usually the diaphragm that was the culprit - weed eaters and chainsaws, whether they get hard or bagged out , I do notice that when I open these mikunis they always seem to have a wrinkle in the bottom portion of the rubber diaphragm and are the members finding the same here with the mikunis . other than a needle and seat that has visible wear characteristics like a mark on the needle or typical debris . can the diaphragm for the pump be bought separately and do you upgrade the carbs on the 785 to the easier to tune 98 -2000 carb set .
