    2012 rxt-x, solas 15/20 results

Just got back from the lake, the solas 15/20r did what I wanted it to mostly, I dropped in rpm's down to 7,850@72.5mph on gps, I sure would like to see 8,000 rpms,, I am still waiting on the parts for my air intake so hopefully I will be close. Am I missing any power that is left to be had other than the vtech? as it sits I have a gen 3 intercooler, F/A removed, solas 15/20r, and scom, not to bad so far, about 500 dollars and picked up 5 mph.

your missing a lot of RPM, especially running that prop. any issues with a failing intercooler before hand?

No issues with I/C, I was turning 8,040 with the stock impeller and hitting the rev limiter, so I went to the solas 15/20 to get me off the limiter,

Unless Im confused, I always thought the OEM props has taller pitches then the solas.

You are not alone on that one, while asking for help on impeller choice I was confused about the pitch, stock is like 14/25 so if I was hitting the rev limiter on that dropping down to a 15/21 didnt sound right but I guess they are nothing alike, I see a lot of guys running the 15/19 but they are turning 8500 to 9000 rpms, I am trying to get the most out of my motor without a tune, a 15/19 may have been a better choice but you have to start somewhere, I will see where I am at after I get my air intake done, if it does not bring me up another 100 rpm or so I will be ordering the vtech,

oh, and stock nozzle, which is a bit larger on the 2012 rxtx from what I have been told. I probably could have put a smaller nozzle and had better results.

Once you add the air intake your RPM will come up quite a bit... so will speed.

FYI, can't compare the pitch of a stock impeller to the Solas. They are two completely different blade designs.

I found on my iS that using the Worx or RD grates dropped my rpms down to about 7800 compared to stock. With a Vtech 8600rpm tune and the prop pitched to about 12/19, I was getting close to 75mph on an 87mm nozzle around 8500rpm or so. But then again, I'm about 125lbs heavier than a normal RXT. When I put things back to stock, I went back to a stock grate and prop and was getting about 70ish on the 83mm nozzle. (I still have my SCOM on there and it would hit the rev limiter on the 87mm nozzle at 67mph)

    hope this helps..

Thanks unsane, every bit of info is appeciated, I would think with your tune you would get more than 74mph? Is that all I would gain with the vtech and say the 8350 tune?I think I will be right at 74mph after my ait intake goes on, I definatly dont want to have to monitor a/f ratios and add extra sensors,

Suspension skis are very heavy. 75 is about it on a stock charger.
