Thinking of buying 14 310x
Hi everyone, never been on the kawi side, sold my Yamaha fzr some time back and looking to get another ski, I can get a new 2014 310x special edition for 13,500 and was wondering how well these 310's are holding up. I haven't ridden a 310 but I have ridden a buddies 250x so the only reason I'm looking at kawi is the hull is better in the chop than a Yamaha, but my buddies 250 blew up twice so that's my question

I am in the process of doing the same thing. Trying to get a 2014 310x SE or 310R. There are two I am looking at.
I'm working with the 310X SE dealer to proactively replace the tame ECU in the '14 (21175-0868 ) with the replacement (21175-0954).
There is no recall from Kawasaki, but if you complain about RPMs falling back to 7200 Kawasaki will replace the ECU under warranty (but only for those that complain).

The ECU issue is real, dealers deny it because installing a new ECU is a waste of their time

Any of the 2014 Ultras would be a good choice. I have the standard 310X model, and it has been a great Ski for me. I did put the 2015 ECU in it; you'll find that the 2015 ECU has a more aggressive "tune" to it than the 2014 ECU.
For me that was better. For some others, it may not matter. Even with the 2014 ECU, the Ski was still exceptional. JB

I bought the 2014 310LX April 2014 and Have had the most fun with friends and family pulling tubes and touring. I had the spark plugs changed. When the spark plugs are bad the ecu kept the ski at 5 mph til I brought it back to ramp. Im guessing it protects the motor from damage. Other than that it has been great and the ecu holds at 67 mph.

Dealers make a set amount of $ for each job they do for the manufacturer, including any warranty work, recall's, tech bulletins, etc. So it is not a waste of time as they do get paid.
