Part# 5412014 What are you folks doing for replacement rubber thermostat gaskets?

Seems the rubber seal around the thermostat (not the figure 8 o-ring) is discontinued. Polaris part number 5412014.

What are you doing for replacements?

I take it nobody has replaced a thermostat?!

The roundy gasket the t-stat sits in? I've always just reused those. I don't see them as critical.

The 8-shape t-stat housing gasket... I've replaced one of those before... don't want a leak.

I just bought the last 3 OEM figure 8 O-rings I could find.
Yeah the rubber part that actually goes around the thermostat. The ones I have here are pretty nasty looking. Seems all I ever end up buying is salt water junk. Meh.
I think I have a Virage rail around somewhere, maybe i'll get lucky and the gasket is reuseable.
As it is now I bought a brand new housing, thermostat, spring, and plastic pop off valve. Have the new figure 8 o-rings coming, and it seems a shame to reuse that rubber gasket with everything else new.

I have seen some aftermarket ones cut in gasket material vs rubber o ring style.....

I have found that "Quicksilver" (maker of parts for outboard boat motors and lots of other marine parts) makes this thermostat at the same temperature release, same size, same gasket. Found it on display at Marine West store. It's be a while, but i'll look around and see if can find part number.

for about $20.00

They have lots of different sizes with gaskets depending on your ski.
