    Gp1200 to 1300 oem conversion

Got a carbureted 2001 gp 1200r and decided to convert it to the 1300 . I replaced all 3 cylinders with oem 60t cylinders+ head+ power valves. Re jetted the carbs and replaced needle and seat to 1.5 s.
Just started the ski but it has back fired and doesn't seem to want to rev up. I'm sure the carbs are right but it almost seems like timing is off. Is port timing that much different on 60t cylinders than 66v??
i know the crank and cases are identical
    ma gone ever done this?

Why can't you run a 1300 setup with carbs? Interested because I wanted to go 1300 when I did my top end this winter.

Are you sure you have the plug wires going to the correct cylinders? When you say "rejetted" the carbs, what are the complete settings? (springs, jets, turns and pop off)

I am interested in knowing a bit more about this build as I am planning on doing something similar and keeping my carbs. Does anyone think the different port layout could be messing with the timing? I would think the different port is due to being able to better account for fuel when using EFI.

Did you ever find your info? Also where did you get the jetting specs?
