Comparison Test: 5 Of The Hottest Personal Watercraft

I found this interesting. MSX 150 is the lightest of the bunch.

    I choose the MSX

That article is from June 2006.

I Quote "The MSX 150 we tested was a prototype. The production MSX 150 should be quicker and faster than this one."

    HUH?

Cool. I've come across a few online shoot-out articles from back in the day... and the new MSX 150 always did pretty well.

I like how this article says "Not only is it mechanically innovative and a ball to ride, the styling is a whole product cycle ahead of the others." That nice praise for the MSX hull.

My real world experience has the stock MSX 150 slowly walking a Honda F-12x on the top end every time. I like picking on them even more with the Stage2 reflash.

    Cheers!

Ya the Honda is fun to mess with. I like picking races with them. It's easy, just ask if they think there turbo 4 cylinder can hang with your turbo 2 cylinder. Mine walks the hondas off the line due to the added torque from my modifications. I can't wait until I can up the RPMs and boost above stock.

The Hondas must be a west coast thing. I have never seen a Honda PWC here in VA out on the water. Seen 2 come up on craigslist in the past, but most folks shun them like tigersharks.

Really? We do have a lot of them out here in the NW. Way more common than any MSX. I have a few on my lake even... the F-12 versions. I've never seen a F-15 version. And they are pretty popular and command a good price when up for sale too. The local motorsports dealer has at least 8 of them sitting tidy on their trailers under their covers out in their service parking area. Probably all waiting to have their fuel tanks replaced under warranty.

The Honda F-12x is my MSX 150's nemesis!

    Cheers!

I'd still like to know why an article written in 2006 was reviewing a prototype MSX that had not been in production for 2 years.

Also interesting to see that they have the Yamaha FX in there and not the FXHO which would have a been a closer matchup to the others.
I'm still hoping to put my FXHO up against my MSX140 and see which wins.

I've never seen a Honda PWC on the water here in upstate NY. Saw one at a dealer quite a few years back.

It must be a west coast thing. The Honda is probably one of the most popular pwc in my area.

Seadoo followed by Yamaha are the main thing here. I rarely even see a Kawasaki.
So interesting to see these kinds of differences from different parts of the country.
