Sealant between jet pump and steering nozzle

What is everyone using for this? The new prop we got says to use 1211 or Yamambond for that. Just wondering what the rest of you guys are using.

    thanks!

I've always used anaerobic gasket maker. Not a critical sealing area. Make sure you have the o-rings around the Venturi tubes.

    that's locktite 518 in ameri-speak.

actually I believe it is a critical area..that's why brp specify a pretty pricey sealant for it.

I would have been happier with a $10 o-ring..the 518 is nasty stuff to handle. I have to wear gloves these days as I develop a rash when I handle it now.

It really helps keeping the O-rings in place and getting the most benefit from your bilge siphon.

I put a dab of cheap clear silicone around the siphon tube area and nowhere else. Never an issue on a couple hundred different skis.

MYSELF - that's kinda what I thought I remember reading from a number of different people. We ended up using some blue loctite product - not sure the exact product, as my brother bought and installed it. Put it in the water the other day and the sealant is the least of our issues!!

We had a couple water cooling line issues at the launch ramp - we are in the process of reviving 2 dead ski's - they are 2001 GTS's. Got a little anxious/overconfident and didn't water test in the driveway first . The life lessons my seadoo's teach me are awesome!
