I disagree. Many folks here "recommend" you use 89+ gas if it has ethanol in it. No one is saying you "cannot" use 87 octane that has ethanol.

You surely can use 87 octane (even w/10% ethanol) and you'll be fine. I've been running it for YEARS in my stock 750s, 780, and 1200... with no problems.

I've been running 87 ethanol free. I refuse to run ethanol fuel in any of my small engines I didn't know if the ski required anything higher than 87

It's a 2-stroke. You can run peanut butter in there if you have the right jets. Ethanol doesn't hurt it.

I wouldn't do it, even the service manual states that you must use 89 or better if it contains ethanol. For the extra 25 cents a gallon its not worth the risk on an old engine. Also remember the Fuji engines were designed before the widespread use of crap gas.

87 ethanol free is just fine for a stock 780. Even 87 w/ ethanol would be fine, if it doesn't sit unused in your tank for long periods of time. If you had triple-pipes, higher compression heads, or other performance stuff (intakes, carbs, exhausts)... then you would want to use the appropriate higher octane fuel for your needs.

I would use whatever grade of ethanol free gas you can get your hands on.

in our ski's all we run is 87 with ethanol for over 15 yrs 97 sl 1050 97 sl900 96 sl900 01 slx 1200 97 sltx just to name a few of them tat have had ethanol since day one without a single problem
