Has anyone tried a BOV
Looking for real world results. My goal is to avoid blowing off hose clamp connections.
I have seen lots of 3rd hand bashing but no first hand results. I happen to run in fresh water only so corrosion is not a huge concern.
I am not in this for the sound........... I simply don't care about that sort of thing.

I ran one on a supercharged GTX. Complete waste. Save your money.

i ran a ssqv type one for over 200hours on different superchargers back in the day... with a C kit, i noticed the charger didnt lose as much slip then without the BOV.. thats ocean riding... revving to 8100 rpm.. thats just my experience.. i now run a 50mm tial.. but thats with the turbo

I used an HKS on my RXP for about 70hrs before I went turbo. It was only an x-charger but I was fairly abusive (hitting RPM limit and chopping throttle) to it and I never had a problem.
I would think it may help your problem.

Get rid of the t bolt clamps that came with the Intercooler kit. I had the same issue went back to the stock screw clamps and haven't popped on off again.

IF the plumbing dose'nt have a bead rolled in the ends of the pipes, this will happen.....

The best solution is to avoid adding more complexity and fixing/replacing the source of the failure.
Is this popping off from one of the Fizzle tubes?
If the aluminum tubes are not that heavy gauge, I can roll-a-bead on aluminum pipes for you (with bead roller and die made for this purpose). If you can find a "hot rod" type shop in your area, they can also do this. You could also make a wooden puck to insert into open end of tube and hammer small lip on the edges. Doesn't take much.
ps. Last option (if pipes are not bead rolled). Use 40-grit sand paper around the end of the pipes, sand until all shine is gone. Last option, have pipes truck liner spray coated (Line-X).Last edited by Sanfish; 05-27-2015 at 07:08 AM. Reason: eureka!!!

All of my connections are bead rolled. I personally have not popped one off. I have seen people fight this on high boost motors. In one case, the hose came off but the clamp was still hanging on the intercooler. That implies that the rubber hose slipped out of the hose clamp.
It all happened when he lifted out of the throttle.
This has the smell of a spiking boost issue. Just what a BOV is designed to cure.
