MSX Steering
Has anyone cut the top of the MSX steering stem off and welded a mount on allowing the ability to run aftermarket bars?
Guess it would come out similar to the Virage stem.

Not that I know of but Im sure it can and probably should be done by someone.

I guess the only difference between the UMI and this mod would be actual bearings on the stem, right?
I think i'm going to part out the 03 I have, might take the steering from that and see what I can come up with.
Any ideas for the mount? I think the Virage mount is pot metal, and not very weldable. (But i'm no expert on welding!)

Maybe someone could machine a bar clamp out of stainless to weld to the steering stem.

That sounds expensive. I was thinking of repurposing a dirt bike stem or something like that. A cut and weld ordeal. Maybe powder coat it after.

I put seadoo X bars on mine. Wasn't too difficult but fiberglass work was involved. Lilman put shorter risers on after I sold it to him so they ate back to stock position http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/show...=135530&page=2
