Possible oil leak 2009 Yamaha fx cruiser SHO? likely locations to cheeck?
I think oil may be leaking into bilge while sitting. Wondering if there's likely oil leak locations - where to look/feel?
New to me ski has sat for 2 years and noticed what appears to be oil in the bilge. Level was down - topped up, somewhat cleaned bilge.
Ran ski for 1+hrs and seemed ok. but 2 weeks laters appears to have some oil in port rear section (tongue is tipped up a bit).
Oil filter seems fine, 50 hrs.
All help is appreciated!

Thanks Grumpy - appreciated!
I felt under the filter and it's dry. Was hoping that was the spot.
I do have a new one and will replace if you think it makes sense.
I didn't do a paper towel test, just by hand.
Thanks for quick reply!

2fast, I think it's OEM.
I bought a new one and it's OEM.
Should I install if filter seems dry?

Check in front of the supercharger and underneath the supercharger. The oil pump is right there and the gasket between the pump and the block is a good spot to check.

Awesome, thanks! I had a Hydrostream V-King... any relation to your name?
For your suggestion, Anything to remove? or just feel underneath. My fat arms don't seem to fit well - especially on a trailer.
Am I roasted if there's a leak there?...I know, First things first.

How much oil are you talking about. It seems that no matter how many towels I put under the oil filter I still get a little in the hull when I change it. I use NAPA filters and never had a problem with em.

Since there was water in it, it was tough to determine. I used a ton of bilge cleaner and water to rinse it the 1st I noticed it.
Wasn't even sure it was oil, but now it's a honey color again mixed with water, with slight foam at the edges
I've got a boroscope, but the lense is pretty dinged up from use. Maybe time for a new one.
