Help No power on 1997 gts

Hook battery up and put dess key on no power won't crank at all it's dead... I'm deaf and I can't hear beep that one thing bad lol but the gas display works so that mean there power but not to crank. Checked starter works, fuse are ok so any thought on what may cause??? Bad press start button or cdi to??? My thought may be the battery terminal cable there should be two postive one ground? Right now just one postive and one ground hook up on battery. Polaris I used to own has two postive cable and one ground cable hook up on battery.

I think there is a wire coming out of the rear electric box that goes to the battery..not sure which side at this instant however, but The ski is dead without it.

the gas gauge will cycle any time the cdi is woken up, so that doesn't mean that the key is accepted.

perhaps a 12v led wired to the beeper line and hot glued into the chin pad would be an idea..then you could catch a few blinks and even know when the ski was overheating
