help! buying a used yamaha today

Hi...seeking some advice. I'm new to waverunners so even though this may be a common sense question
I figured I would seek out some advice. I am between a 2004 yamaha fx cruiser HO with 110 hours and a 2006 fx HO with 41 hours. They are both at same dealership. The price difference is about 1k. Im not sure if any of those years were associated with some engine or hull issue. Also do you have any advice of simple things I can visually inspect for when I go to the dealer today? Or questions to ask? I appreciate any input tremendously!
I'm just scared to sink out on the water or something crazy haha.
    Thanks again!

Check for corrosion....if it was flush proper.

2004 was the first year for the FX HO skis. There were several improvements made in the design in 2006 to include better motor mounts, which were known to crack on the early models. So, I'd recommend the 2006. They were both very reliable.

Both are great skis but if the 2006 checks out, I would grab it. The only thing I personally don't like about the Cruiser is the high back bucket seats. The non-cruiser seat is more comfy IMO and gives you versatility to move around to your own desired riding position. The bucket seats put you where THEY want you and for taller people, it's too close to the handlebar.

Hmmm thanks! I alway wondered about that seating style...I'm not tall but wondered if they would actually be more comfortable. The 04 is selling for 4500 and the 06 for 5700.

The 06 sounds like the better deal.

In reference to the cruiser seat...I have a 2013 FX HO Cruiser and I'm 6' 3" and I find it very comfortable. The tilt steering does help though.

Would you guys go for a yamaha 2009 sho cruiser with 129 hours or a 2006 with 41 hours? I'm not sure which had more value...the years or hours?

Neither. It all about the maintenance. Don't get caught up on years or hours. My 2012 has 225 hours and looks like it just rolled off the assembly line.
