another 08 supercharger failure
engine is out but still full of oil.what is the cleanest way to dump the oil.bought a new charger from green hulk.i will buy all the parts from here.i need help since I have not done this before.one of the gold washers is missing.i hope I find it all.sorry but if anybody could help me that would be great.thanx Richard.

Best way to get ALL the oil out is put the engine on a engine stand,tilt it so the PTO cover is facing downward at about a 30 degree angle,put a 5 gallon bucket under the PTO cover and pull it off slowly..All you have to do is crack the PTO cover off the block and the oil will drain out.

thanx snow.i was going to send you a message about this.how did those motor mounts fair out that I donated. I don't want to screw this up.doing this for a friend.got the engine in the air and want to find out what is what before to many beers go down my throat.do I take water pump off first.sorry for stupidness but as you can tell that I have not been on here awhile.could someone make a sticky of this or does it exist already.thanx richard

They worked out GREAT..Thanks again....Also yes,taking off the thermo/water pump as you call it will make things 100 times easier when pulling the cover....As far as a sticky or thread??Im not positive BUT you might want to check the "how to" section just to be sure...
Only stupid question is the one not asked my friend....

does the water pump impeller come off with the case or do I have to take it off first.thanx Richard.

it comes off with the PTO. One thing to watch for is the conical washers on the starter shaft will want to fall out, so be prepared for that.

ok I have front and back covers.the front oil pump has some scarring.so need new oil pump and cover.pump gear pitted pretty good.found half of washer in pto cover.is there another oil screen.and thanx I herd one of the starter shims fall into my oil bucket.will have to slowy drain bucket and see what I find.also some small pieces that are not metal ?

sorry but just notice the oil pump in the back attached to the water pump impeller.is the impeller clock wise or counter to remove.looks like this will need to be replaced to and oil pump.
