Report: Swapped R&D C3-11 to an ET Low Boost Wheel

As some know, I recently broke an R&D billet shaft so I got with Glenn and replaced it. In the process, I decided to switch to an ET Low Boost wheel. I was told I was going to need injectors and/or fuel pump at a minimum because it would run "high 13 AFR's"......... so I was honestly a little leery. That, however, was not the case at all. My AFR's are pretty much identical throughout the RPM range with a safe 11.8 - 11.9 (tapped 12.0) at full boost (14psi) at 8600. The one thing I did notice was that the entire power RPM range is much smoother with the ET. For anyone considering the ETLB versus the C3, the ETLB is impressive. The weight difference is very noticeable and the quality of the ET seems better overall.

Thanks for the feedback. I've thought about making this switch as well. I assume top end is dead even between the two wheels?

Another old school cheap fix to run the ETLB wheel, was by adding an Powershot with the newer R3 flashes. Still not as accurate safe as a true FPR/AFR setup. But there are different ways to skin a cat. And they taste great!

I've been running the E.T LB for 80 hours. stock injectors, no FPR. Haven't even taken mtx-l gauge out of box to install. Nice to see someone do the same that has an a/f gauge to know. I use 93 oct with 8oz Torco octane booster in each tank to assure it's at least 93. It's probably not needed. Just a little insurance since I'm not monitoring a/f.

I also attribute it to air conditions, elevation, etc. I'd install that wideband if I were you Kami.
