Looks like AutoZone is running a $15 rebate on Duralast AGM batteries thru the end of May. Just wanted to share....

Pretty good deal in my opinion..

I just bought one from autozone 2 days ago. etx16L for yamaha. They are made by DEKA(same design), branded Duralast Gold.
    $88.99 + $10 core..I brought the core with me.
I used this printable coupon for extra $15 off.. http://www.dealcatcher.com/images/pr...1431548099.png
$73.99 + 8% tax= 79.91..Plus the rebate for $15. You can mail it in or do it online.

Make sure you check in the box. The store had 1 on the shelf. It was used and I guess returned. Was date stamped 6/14, missing the height spacer and the bolts were laying on bottom of box. Went to another store 3 miles away. Again, 1 on shelf, was dated 2/15 and never opened.

DEKA east penn makes the batteries sold by a number of companies. Simple to recognize an east penn battery regardless of the sellers brand badge. and every major outlet has em..from "big crank" to "xyzzy"

Warranties may vary according to the seller.

you also want to be sure to check date code ( letter/number month/year or a simple year sticker)

have the counter guy check the voltage BEFORE you walk out the door. Should be at 95% or better ( see instruction sheet for the specific battery in the box)

The date stickers are placed on the battery by the distributor, not the factory, so a battery with a current date sticker may be low on charge if the battery was hanging around for a few months or perhaps not topped off before shipment to the retailer.

Agm batteries have a significant percentage charge/voltage drop curve, so don't assume the battery is ready to go unless you check the standing voltage ( and not after the battery comes right off the charger either).

I float mine up every month or so, just so they are tip top. My distributor is excellent. The batteries are always fullfullfull when they arrive.
Can't say the same about the other brands I've carried before becoming a Deka exclusive shop, mostly because of the distributor.

You can always recognize the made in usa east penn.

it weighs far more then a wally world battery
you don't drop a nut into the muck at the worst possible time
    it packs a significant wallop
the unique terminal design reduces maintenance problems.

and a side note...the brass spacers are used in side mount motorcycle applications...not for pwc's

yes..I'm a Deka fan boy..I have good reason to be. They make me look good.

The Deka batteries are by far the best. Quite a bit better than the Odyssey batteries i have owned. Lots more zip.

ALL CAT branded batteries are made from east penn. Simply the best. Start a 4500 horsepower diesel with 4 8D's with no problems. Even after a long discharge.

I stuck an east penn intimidator in my pickup after losing a brand name battery on a bad road ( an only a precious few roads around here are good)a long walk from a cell tower.

that's one tough battery. I've really abused it and it's still cranking.

    wallet flatteningly expensive however.

Let me invite you for a a walk in the 105 degree high desert where you can find at the end of this very bad road the $80 you saved buying that discount POS battery.

I can't imagine the words that fly out of a heo mouth when he doesn't get a thing when he mashes the starter.

Is this to save weight? What's wrong with OEM battery?

    3-needs to be watered regularly
