    (Replying to the post in this thread, originally posted in the MSX reflash thread)

    1) That appears to be the correct ODB cable
    2) I had issues with getting a similar cable to work, I set it aside and haven't gotten around to figuring out why. It was very puzzling, since there is only three wires, lol.
    3) Those 16-14AWG pins are large, especially for the size wires in item 2. I'd recommend a crimp then solder.

    Are you looking for the OBD pins, or the ECU pins?

    Here is what is working for me. I have the Polaris adapter, connected to a Serial to USB adapter. The adapter I am using has the prolific chipset.





    I had to make the ATX12V to weatherpack adapter. I went to my local computer shop and picked up this. Cut off the end and installed the weatherpack connector.

    You're lucky you got the prolific chipset working, they are garbage compared to FTDI.

    To clarify for other readers, the ATX12V connector is only needed with the OEM cables, not the affordable (and obtainable) alternates as defined earlier in this thread.
