But since you have the pipe off why not cut the hole in the bracket, then you can tune on the water. Take a run, go to shallow water and adjust a 1/4 turn, then make another run. That takes 2-3 minutes tops.

Just asking, why not do the O'Side Bill's carb jetting and F/A's? That will really wake the boat up and probably get you the 70 you want. Did on one I worked on last summer.

figure since we are both aiming for the same goal of at least 70.. today i noticed my ride plate was crooked, loosened it and it wouldnt tuck all the way against the shoe. pulled it off and noticed some poyurethane blocking it. now that i have that resolved i hope to break that 65 barrier. going out tomorrow to do some drags and buoy runs.
These guys are running an older xp at like 190psi compression.. im going to run it and see what i can do lol.

Why do u believe the FI setup will provide more power? FI is definitely not as finicky and no adjustments once you get the A/F ratio correct, and can provide consistency, but why do you believe it will provide more power?

I actually think its funny seeing all these people talk about air fuel ratio.. no one ever mentions ignition timing and you can blow your motor pretty fast with great afr and terrible ignition timing.

I think he means its easier to set up by turning a dial. It also self adjusts because EFI can sense changes in weather conditions. Peak power should be about equal if both were set up properly on the day of testing.
