Well, I did some top speed runs this past wknd. Speed was not close to what i was hoping for, but the water was extremely rough due to the wind. I found a few spots on the lake where the water was decent...not nearly as smooth as before, but decent, only to feel the wind literally pushing the ski sideways. I was constantly driving against a push. At any rate 66.7 was all i could muster. Will hv to wait for another day when the water is better but that may not be until spring.

Im hoping for smooth water this morning. Yesterday I pulled the carbs and leaned them out a little. Took it out and lost rpm and top speed, better holeshot though. Pulled exhaust again last night and richened up the high speeds. Tuning these things sucks lol.

you won't have that problem if it was a EFI.

A long screw driver with a slot cut in the tip works for tuning the highs without removing the pipe.

Not if you dont have a hole cut in the bracket.. it takes me 20 mins to remove the pipe, turn the screws and put everything back together.. hooray for air tools lol..

Why not cut the hole in the bracket?

I will when I get a hole saw. I got 64.3mph today on glass, air temp was 67, and I had 6 bars of gas. Better than the 62.1 yesterday. I hope to catch up to the op over winter.

Lowes, home depot ace even harbor freight sells hole saws. Certainly would save time. Just messing with you. As I get older always looking to save time. Not that much time left. however much it is. Wish you well on your need for speed. Mine is low 70's and am happy with that. Will stay with a 300 from a slight roll on.

Do a search, you can tune the highs without removing exhaust if you drill a hole in the exhaust bracket and have the tee handles.

Sorry, I did not see the other replies. I use a coat hanger with a h shape made on one end to turn the tee handles from topside.
