Close to correct.
The gray wire with bullet connector provides a separate ground just for the stator Hall Effect electronic sensors which trigger the ignition system.
The gray wire with female tab (spade) connector is the input to the CDI for limiting RPM during overheat and similar conditions. If the temp sensor (Tan wire) grounds the gray wire then the CDI will enforce RPM limiting.
Reverse mode (Virage and Genesis carb engines) also activates this RPM limit by grounding the same Gray wire.

LM78L08 voltage regulator work around for failed CDI 8 volt stator Hall Effect output
I now have one assembled here in my hand. This one is made using the 78L08 regulator.
I do not have a carburetor engined Polaris on hand to test it with. If you are interested I can put in the mail to you. Just cover my costs.
Wire colors are close to correct, I used what I had on hand.
Grey (ignore the red stripe) is ground reference for the CDI to Hall effect sensor circuit. Connects inline with the existing gray wire bullet connectors between stator and CDI.
Orange is the switched battery power feed.
Brown is the 8 volt output to power the stator Hall Effect sensors.
