Riding Hours vs Working on the Ski Hours
Just curious to find out about how much time some people on this board spend actually riding as compared to working on the ski. I am not being negative at all, I am an art dealer but I in my past life I was (and still am)a licensed aircraft mechanic and I know that working on the skis can be fun too.
This doesn't count time thinking about riding or playing on this forum. My skis are mostly stock but I, like I assume most of you are somewhat obsessed.
For example, Jerry you have a lot of hours on your ski (120?) but how many hours have you spent working on it?

Jerry, count all the nights Carey bannished you to the couch and you and Dex slept in the shop.
My guess = 300 hours.

That question was not just for Jerry. How about you Franko?

LOL! I have no idea how many hours. Probably just as many hours working on it as riding. I find both equally as fun.

do you mean repairs or everything? I've only got 20 on mine. I've spent probably 5 hrs working on it, but none of the work was required.

I meant everything. It looks like much of the time spent by people on this board is tweaking things to make the ski faster. Repairs count too.
I started thinking about it because every time I ride, it takes me an hour and 15 minutes to wash my ski and do routine maintanence. It takes me an hour to hook up the trailer, go to the ramp and launch my skis. So if I ride for 3 hours it takes me 6 hours in total.
I am looking to buy a lake house and then my ratio will be way different.
Anyway that is what started me thinking about it but travel time and washing the skis is not really what I had in mind when starting this thread. But all answers are welcome.

I spend way more time riding- but then I have a slow, stock ski so...
Hell, I don't even wash them every time I'm done- just hose 'em off, let 'em dry, cover and repeat. I put 70+ hrs on my RXT this season and the only thing I did was change the oil. Vic

We rode about 45 hrs. this season, between trailer maint.,ski maint, and mods, prob a good 20 hrs or so, not including washing (every return) and waxing several times a year...PR..
